 1. In class I learned the different roles of composing a sound research study. It requires a lot of careful planning and determining the methodology. I also learned the importance of ensuring the study is ethical and in line with IRB standards if necessary. Analyzing the data and choosing valid and reliable information is incredibly important and can strengthen the credibility and reliability of the research findings.

2. These processes have shown just how important it is as a technical communicator to go in with a well-organized plan, and a focus on reliability. Understanding this has made me more aware of the information put on sites and it makes me create a well-thought-out plan before beginning something.

    I also found it interesting to see all of the careful planning that goes into a sound research study. I like that you mentioned how important it is to find valid and reliable information when conducting research. It's very helpful to be organized when you are planning things out. Facebook and Twitter were the most mentioned as they are already cemented social media platforms however the growth of different platforms like TikTok and Threads, can result in new information. Newer platforms operate with different algorithms, content formats, and user demographics, which may influence political communication in unique ways. Understanding how these newer platforms compare to both traditional media and older social media in shaping voter attitudes, behaviors, and engagement is crucial, especially as their popularity continues to rise among younger voters.

Hello, this is my fourth blog about revisions. Through revisions, I will explore the validity and relevance of the information presented on various social media platforms. While major news outlets like CNN or The New York Times tend to be accepted as credible sources, we often view others, like TMZ or certain social media accounts, with skepticism. This difference in perception highlights how important it is to evaluate where our information comes from and why some sources are more trusted than others. I will also include the feedback from Dr. B in the revisions.
